Paddling Trips In and Around Boulder Junction: Part 1

All trips take approximately 2-3 hours and have one put in/take out.

Allequash Lake: Allequash Lake is a 406 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 24 feet. The lake’s water is moderately clear. From Boulder Junction travel south on Hwy M and turn left on Allequash Lake Road and follow to public landing.

Ballard Lake & White Birch Lake: Ballard Lake is a 503 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 25 feet. The lake’s water clarity is very clear. To put in at the paved landing on Ballard Lake from Boulder Junction take Hwy M south to Hwy K. Turn left on K and follow to Siena Drive. Turn left on Siena Drive and follow to the boat landing. White Birch Lake is a 113 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 27 feet.  The lake’s water is moderately clear.  To access from White Birch Lake there is a carry in landing on Hwy K 2 miles before Siena Dr.

Big Muskellunge Lake: Big Muskellunge Lake is a 897 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 70 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from public boat landings, a public beach. The lake’s water clarity is very clear. Follow Hwy M South approximately 6.5 miles to Muskelunge Lake Road. Turn left and follow signs to the boat landing.

Boulder Lake: Boulder Lake is a 516 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 23 feet.  From Boulder Junction take Hwy M north to Airport Road. Turn left and follow signs to the paved boat landing.

Escanaba Lake: Escanaba Lake is a 303 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 26 feet. The lake’s water is moderately clear. Follow Hwy M South approximately 4 miles to Nebish Lake Road. Turn left and follow signs to the boat landing, approximately 3.5 miles from Cty Hwy M.

Fishtrap Lake: Fishtrap Lake is a 339 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 34 feet. The lake’s water clarity is very clear. From Boulder Junction take Hwy M North  to High Fishtrap Lake Rd. Turn right on High Fishtrap Lake Rd to High Lake Road. Turn left On High Lake Road and follow to Partridge Lane. Turn right and follow until High Pines Lane. Turn right to get to boat landing.

High Lake: High Lake is a 741 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 36 feet. The lake’s water is moderately clear. From Boulder Junction travel north on Hwy M until the intersection with Cty Hwy B. Turn right and continue on Cty Hwy B and watch for High Lake boat landing on the right side of highway.

Lynx Lake: Lynx Lake is a 307 acre lake located in Vilas County. It has a maximum depth of 48 feet. The lake’s water clarity is very clear. From Boulder Junction travel north on Hwy M until the intersection with Cty Hwy B. Turn left and continue on Cty Hwy B to Lynx Lake Rd. Turn left yo the boat landing.
