Check out these unique Wisconsin food festivals

Wisconsin’s one-of-a-kind food festivals highlight some of the state’s best foods, from apples to cranberries to roast beef. Here’s a look at some late-summer and early fall festivals you shouldn’t miss.

Sweet Corn Festival, Sun Prairie

Held annually on the third full weekend in August, Sun Prairie’s Sweet Corn Festival celebrates one of Wisconsin’s top crops by doling out 80 tons of sweet corn throughout the weekend (seasoned with butter and salt to your liking). The five-day festival kicks off with a parade and block party and also includes a carnival and live music every night.

Taste of Madison

Head to Capitol Square in downtown Madison on Labor Day weekend for this mouthwatering celebration that highlights delicious dishes from more than 80 local restaurants. The free event also features live music and entertainment all day long, beer vendors, and other tasty refreshments.

Maple Fall Fest, Marshfield

Discover all things maple at this fun weekend festival that takes place every September at Wildwood Park in Marshfield in central Wisconsin. This weekend-long event features a daily breakfast (featuring maple sausage, of course), an arts & craft show with more than 150 vendors, Amish specialties, maple syrup products, and much more.

Beef-A-Rama™, Minocqua

More than 10,000 people attend this annual event—held the last Saturday in September—that shuts down the streets in downtown Minocqua (near the Oneida/Vilas County border) and fills the air with the delicious aroma of slow-cooked beef. This Northwoods staple has been going on for more than 50 years and features beef cookoffs, a craft show, a fun run, and more.

Warrens Cranberry Festival

Did you know that Wisconsin is the top cranberry-producing state in the county? Warrens, located in western Wisconsin, celebrates this important crop every year on the last weekend in September, when the community holds the world’s largest cranberry festival. The featured attractions include cranberry marsh tours, a parade, and hundreds of food vendors and cranberry products, as well as 800 arts & crafts vendors and more than 300 flea market booths.

Bayfield Apple Festival

This fall festival was established in 1962 and celebrates the harvest of one of the top crops in Bayfield on Lake Superior in far northwestern Wisconsin. The Bayfield Apple Festival takes place in early October and has been named one of the state’s best festivals and one of the top harvest festivals in the country. Events include food and craft vendors, live music, a carnival, and a parade.
